The Long Goodbye
How many ways can you say "goodbye", without really saying goodbye? After a fun day together, our two friends in The Long Goodbye delay their eventual parting by unlocking (or unzipping) the power of their imagination. Layer by layer, as the characters transform to visually represent the parting words in the text, the background changes to reflect their habitat. They discover that there is joy in the journey and a little procrastination goes a long way. In fact, a long goodbye can turn into no goodbye at all!
This story evolved out of many long goodbyes with my own children, which often made me late for work. As a father of seven, my daily life is an inspiration for stories and paintings. My oldest is 18 and my youngest 5...seems like I will have material on hand for some time to come!
