Before You Were Born & Just Like You
I sold these two book concepts to a publisher with whom I had been doing book cover art. On a business trip to Tampa, Florida I presented the book ideas to Green Key Books. Their initial reaction was “we don’t do children’s books”. After reading the manuscript accompanied by the illustrations, they had a change of heart and embraced the idea of publishing them. After less than a year on the market, Before You Were Born went into its second printing.

How many things do we do for and how much do we think about our children before they are born? Such a foundation of love is laid down with the expectation of the new arrival! I think that when children see photographs of their moms and dads and ask "Where was I?", they can be assured that they were loved even before they arrived in this world. The book was never meant to make a political statement but I think it touches on some truths that are hard to ignore.
