This book cover series offered me what I have found to be two unique opportunities as a freelancer. First I was given almost complete autonomy in the stylistic approach and subject content of each of the cover illustrations. Second I was commissioned to design type, layout and format of each book. I didn't do myself any favors by choosing a full spread cover but the temptation to illustrate all the intense imagery I was reading about was too great.
